Playtime Paris July 2020 cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
After the announcement, at the beginning of April, of CIFF youth and Pitti Bimbo postponements to August and September respectively, now Playtime has opted for the cancellation of Playtime Paris originally planned for July 2020 (see also here).
Playtime Paris is now evaluating the possibility of a show on 5-7 September 2020. “We think it’s wise, however, to give ourselves time to reflect and wait a bit longer in order to see how the situation evolves. A final decision will be made in the month of May.” An announcement about Playtime New York and Playtime Shanghai will also be made in May.
In the meantime, Playtime will focus all efforts on digital for a connected season! In the last five years, they have been growing “iloveplaytime”, a B2B marketplace that offers a rich and innovative digital relay to all players in the kid’s fashion industry: brands, buyers, journalists and influencers. The strategy now is to continue to evolve it and make it even better!
As next steps, Playtime confirmed that they will temporarily conduct themselves as a non-profit company! There will be a reduction of 25% on the price of a booth and added a discount of 50% for a one-year subscription to the B2B marketplace. Playtime shared that, before the end of the year its platform will have 4,000 verified buyers. And they are committed to increase communications and create additional content for iloveplaytime.
We love the press release closing claim: “Onward!”
