Client Case Study-Suzie Soloviev

The last time we checked in with Suzie was just over a year ago, right after she launched Sacred Record, her narrative consulting business via my 90 Day Business Launch program. She then came into my Build Your Client Base mastermind, and in the year she’s been there she’s increased her rates almost 20x (yes, you got that math right) and has hit so many amazing milestones both for her clients and as a CEO. I can’t wait for her to fill you in!

When we last spoke with you, you were about to start a new bridge job so you could focus on Sacred Record. Is your business the same, or has anything evolved?

Boy, howdy, have things changed!

When last we spoke, I was working full time while running Sacred Record and commuting two hours each way. I was squeezing in my Instagram time on the train and writing my copy after putting my three year old to bed. I had just a few offerings, and they felt set in stone. Today, I work for myself full time, from home, and get to see my daughter for more than a few hours. I’ve led classes online, worked with 1:1 clients, run challenges, started recording a podcast, host a facebook group, and much more.

Once Sacred Record really got underway, I started to play with my offers. You encouraged me to just toss things out and see what stuck. I realized there was a HUGE need for help writing professional bios, and hey! Mixing personal and professional stories is what I do best. I ended up running a flash professional bio sale that evolved in a twice-annual event, which evolved into my theory of bio-writing (CCI – ask me about it!), which evolved into Seize Your Story, my signature class. It’s been a blast, and I can’t wait to see what it will evolve into next.

Let’s talk wins! What have you been most proud of in your business since we last featured you?

I take deep delight in my clients’ successes. I had a client who quintupled his Patreon income within two months of working together. I made him $450 in five minutes with an offer we crafted together. Another client sold out her custom art slots in five hours. Yet another client used her bio in a magazine feature! I could go on and on about the amazing people I’ve worked with.

Have there been any long-term takeaways from our work together?

Keep playing! Have fun with your offerings, and don’t ever feel married to them. You evolve as a human, so why not evolve your offers with them?

Track your data. Having a quota for networking (or as I prefer, making new friends) and keeping track of my newsletters and Instagram posts did wonders for my productivity (and sanity!).

What’s the best piece of advice you can give to someone transitioning from being a “newbie” business owner into a more seasoned or accomplished business owner?

Let it be easy. I say this to my clients so much that they’ve dubbed it my motto, but I got it from you, Michelle, and it’s SO TRUE. The first answer is usually the right answer, and it’s OK if it’s not hard. Let it be easy. Let success come. You don’t have to stress over every launch the way you did over the first. You know what you’re doing – just let it be easy.

Is there anything that’s been a game-changer for you when it comes to your business that you can share? We’d love a good resource or a mindset/productivity tip!

My intense mindset routine changed everything. For months I was doing morning pages, money mantras, reading a bit from You Are a Badass At Making Money, reviewing my quarterly goals, and setting daily intentions before starting work. COVID 19 and being home with my kiddo and husband forced me to adapt, but I still take time each morning to set intentions for the day and review my goals for the month.

I also make it a habit to always have a motivational or mindset book around. Right now I’m rereading “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” by Carol Dweck.

What’s on the horizon for your business? We’d love to hear about any upcoming offerings or goals! 

Seize Your Story, my signature five week crash course in talking about yourself starts July 1! This will be my fourth time running it, and it is SO good. It’s a combination of recorded lessons, live Q&A, and homework shared with a private facebook group. The community and the self-confidence generated are unbelievable. I’m an expert in uncovering people’s hidden talents and bringing them to the forefront, and I can’t wait to help the next group of people see how amazing they truly are.

I also have new 1:1 8 week coaching packages available starting in July. After working with clients over the last year, I’ve realized that they don’t just need the acceleration I provide in launching new ventures (small businesses, job searches, consulting, Patreon pages, podcasts, festivals…), they need support as they ease into the next phase of their journey.
