Really interesting read as per usual Sharmadean! A new perspective I haven’t heard yet. My rebuttal is that this kinda goes against the concept of ‘people do business with people’ so the unpaid labour of personal branding via social media may be more important for service-based businesses? Secondly, I would challenge us, as women, to think about how we utilise our social media accounts. They can be a great source of learning and visibility for future generations if you are truly showcasing all aspects (that you wish) of your lifestyle/business not just the edited glossy parts (holidays and awards). Also features such as polls have enabled me to capture feedback and gauge sentiment through real-time data collection.
