Today, one of the biggest and lucrative industries is the tech industry. It comprises companies in which business entities focus mainly on the development and manufacturing of technology products or providing technology as a service.
We refer to “Technology” here as primarily electronics-based technology. In fact, this industry has some of the world’s biggest companies in terms of revenue such as Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft. All of which, usually hired for different positions almost all the time.
Are you a job seeker looking to apply at a tech company? Then this might be the resume builder you are looking for! It is actually one of the many resume builders you might have read on our comprehensive list of free and paid resume builders.
In this extensive (and unbiased) Hiration Resume Builder Review, I will discuss my experience creating a resume using Hiration. I will also discuss the pricing model, support options if any, and any other information.

After reading this review of Hiration, you will have a clearer idea and know for sure if you should build your next resume using the platform.
So, let’s get started.
About Hiration
Hiration was founded by IIT & IIM alumni & second time entrepreneurs, Aditya Sharma and Anish Raj Sikka in the year 2016.
With a mission to transform career discovery & transition, they came up with an AI-powered, state of the art resume builder to help job-seekers build stellar resumes. In addition to that, they provide career-assisting services such as professional resume writing, LinkedIn optimization & cover-letter writing.
They’ve already helped 30,000+ professionals including graduates across 170+ countries land their dream jobs and set to disrupt the hiring space.
Hiration Resume Builder
Upon opening the website, you will notice that they are specific on their niche as they claim they are ‘the best online resume builder for jobs in the tech industry.’ Now, I am a content marketer and I have never applied for a tech company. So, I’m going to go in here as a newbie who will try to create a resume and see if it works for me.
I clicked on the ‘create resume’ icon and before you can create a resume, you have to sign up on their website.

You can actually use your Facebook or Google account to register, or just register with a different email with a corresponding password. For the purposes of this review, I will be using my email.
I like that they’re upfront about what they mean by ‘free’ and I am made aware that I have a 7-day free trial. You don’t have to input any payment information which is nice, as I didn’t feel obligated to pay nor was I having doubts about the possibilities of incurring unexpected charges.
To get the 7 day free trial, you only have to verify your email address.

So, here we are! First of all, I’d like to give the website’s backend team a real good shoutout because they’ve done a splendid job with the User Interface (UI) and I love the way their website looks.
Before I create a resume, I’d like to point out some of the Hiration resume builder’s features (which I will discuss briefly) such as:
- AI Assistant.
- Resume Review.
- 25+ Resume Designs.
- 300+ Job Templates.
- Live Resume Score.
- JD – Resume Matcher.
AI Assistant — This feature is pretty cool as you get text recommendations as you are typing your resume out.

25+ Resume Designs — You can choose from different designs in a click!

50+ Job Templates — Don’t know how to start? Choose from the different pre-filled templates to kick-off your resume.

Live Resume Score — This feature gives you instant feedback while writing.

JD – Resume Matcher — JD stands for Job Description. This feature matches your resume to a job before you apply.

Now that we’ve discussed the features, let’s continue on to building a resume in Hiration.
You will be asked to name your resume or upload an existing resume in PDF/Word Document Format. I chose the former so I can show you the step-by-step process.

After that, your resume builder dashboard allows you to:
- Choose your design.
- Choose your profile.
- Create your Resume.
- Review your Resume.
- Tailor your Resume for Targeted Jobs.
- Download your Resume.
We will be discussing each part, and what my experiences are.
Choosing Your Resume Design
So there are 27 designs to choose from; either a Two-column or Single-Column design.
The eleven (11) two-column designs feature a more compact looking design as opposed to the single-column but since we’re not on premium yet, only one (1) design from each is free.
However, you can still click on any design and move forward.

Choosing Your Profile
Now in this part, you get to choose what your profile is (depending on the kind of job you are applying for).
You will also notice that there are 310 categories to choose from:
- Free Content Templates (6).
- Veteran (1).
- Arts (20).
- Engineering (7).
- Teaching/Research (14).
- Legal (5).
- Technology (99).
- Marketing and Communications (18).
- Sales (9).
- Operations (11).
- Business Development (10).
- Human Resources (5).
- BFSI and Finance/Accounts (20).
- Analytics (5).
- Project Management (3).
- Administration (10).
- Hospitality and Real Estate (18).
- Customer Service and Retail (10).
- Health and Medicine (22).
- Miscellaneous (17).

I then proceeded to select a profile in the technology category for the purposes of this review. I chose the Web Designer profile, and immediately, Hiration directed me to a page where I can make further editing of my key skills, description, professional experience, and more.
I am extremely overwhelmed in a positive way because if I were an actual web designer, this would really help kick-start the resume that I want to create.

I also noticed a dashboard above with different features that allow you to:
- Activate the AI Assistant.

- Add another Section.

- Activate the AI Review.

- Activate the Job Match.

These features are really really good and take the stress off of the user. I didn’t have to stress about second-guessing if the contents of my resume are good enough because the AI-Review provides a really decent real-time feedback on the areas I need to improve.
I also had minor trouble in choosing the words for my resume because apart from the pre-written words on the template, the AI assist feature gives some pretty neat suggestions on the words that I need to put to make my resume Applicant Tracking System (ATS) optimized.
Mid-sized and Large companies normally use ATS software to sift through so many resumes that are passed at their table. Hiration makes sure to minimize the chances of your resume being dumped in the trash can.
So, all I had to do is make some minor editing to my resume, and in less than 10 minutes I was done! It’s that easy with Hiration!
I won’t be able to download my resume unless I subscribe to a premium account though, but so far so good!
Hiration Cover Letter Builder
In my other resume builder articles, I have always expressed how important a cover letter is to a resume. In this section, we’re going to explore the Hiration cover letter builder.

Your cover letter builder dashboard allows you to:
- Choose a Design.
- Choose a Profile.
- Create Your Cover Letter.
- Download the Cover Letter.
Choose Design
So, just like the resume builder, you can choose different designs. There are
14 designs to choose from; 4 two-column designs, and 10 single-column designs.
What I did is select the same design that I had for my resume builder for consistency purposes.

Choose a Profile
There are six (6) categories of profiles to choose from:
- Technology (2).
- Business Development (3).
- BFSI and Finance/Accounts (1).
- Analytics (1).
- Project Management (1).
- Customer Service and Retail (1).

I wasn’t able to look for a cover letter template for the resume that I built a while ago for the web developer job though. I do hope that Hiration will provide at least a blank template for me to create a cover letter.
Nonetheless, I did click through a profile and it led me to this page where I can edit my cover letter further.

Notice the cover letter builder dashboard above, as it allows for the user to:
- Edit the Spacing.

- Change the Theme.

- Change the Design.

So, once you have chosen the right theme, design, and made your edits, you can proceed to download your resume.
Hiration Online Portfolio Builder
So, you’ve already made your resume and cover letter. However, an employer wants to see your digital portfolio.
Have no fear, as Hiration also has an Online Portfolio Builder!

This digital portfolio builder allows you to:
- Choose Design.
- Choose a Profile.
- Create a Digital Portfolio.
- Deploy your Digital Portfolio.
Choose Design
There are 4 designs to choose from in order to make your portfolio stand out.

Choose a Profile
There are thirteen (13) categories of profiles to choose from:
- Technology (1).
- Arts (2).
- Teaching/Research (1).
- Engineering (1).
- Marketing and Communications (1).
- Sales (1).
- Operations (1).
- Business Development (2).
- Human Resources (1).
- BFSI and Finance/Accounts (1).
- Analytics (1).
- Administration (1).
- Hospitality and Real Estate (1).

So as you can see per category, not all of the jobs have profiles but you can still click on one and build from there.
Create a Digital Portfolio
After that, you will be redirected to the part where you can edit your digital portfolio. This can also serve as your website for future references.

Your Digital Online Portfolio builder allows you to:
- Edit Spacing.

- Select a Theme.

- Add another Section.

- Change the Design.

After that, you can launch your website in an instant!

Hiration Pricing
In this section, we will discuss the Hiration’s pricing and what benefits you get per package. I have created a summary through a table below:
|
Package |
Benefits | Price |
| Free |
|
$0 |
| Monthly Subscription |
|
$18 |
| Quarterly Subscription |
|
$36 |
| Yearly Subscription |
|
$54 |
If you do decide to go premium, going on a yearly subscription is the cheaper option if you can pay upfront.
Other Features of Hiration
Now, let’s go back to the homepage and explore the other features that Hiration has to offer. Aside from Pricing, the website also has resources and blogs.
Hiration Resources
This part of the website is where you can find different resume examples that you can draw inspiration from to create the best version of your resume.
You can view different resumes from different fields such as:
- Operations.

- Technology.
- Customer Service.
- Performing Arts.
- Teaching & Academia.
- Project Management.
- BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance).

I selected one to show everyone how it looks like, and under each category is a set of resumes ready to be viewed.

These sample resumes can help create a baseline for you to follow or inspire you to create your resume using their formats.

Hiration Blog
This part of the website features different links to different blogs. The blogs are all about the different kinds of resumes, as well as other topics that might interest you.

Hiration Privacy Policy
I’d like to highlight some of their privacy policies here:
- They gather certain information about your use of the site, such as what areas you visit and what services you access.
- Moreover, there is information about your computer hardware and software that is collected. They gather this information automatically and store it in log files. They do not link this automatically-collected data to other information though.
- They will not share your information with any third party outside of the organization except as provided in their Privacy Policy, other than product feedback.
- They will only allow your resume to be searchable to recruiters, once Hiration partners with recruiters and you opted in. Hiration.com currently does not partner with any recruiters.
Hiration Support
The website has a chat support widget at the bottom right corner. It is very responsive and replies typically in under five (5) minutes.

If you want to send them an email instead, you may send it through their customer feedback form at the bottom of the homepage or send it straight to team@hiration.com.

Hiration Resume Builder Reviews
I checked out Hiration’s review on G2, and I must say, I agree with the rating of 4.5 stars out of 5. They also gave 8.3 for ease of use, as well as 7.5 for quality of support.

Final Thoughts — Building Your Resume Using Hiration
I love the work that the Hiration team has put on the website in terms of User-Experience (UX) and User-Interface (UI). I didn’t experience any bugs, and everything was just smooth sailing, and I didn’t have to put so much effort into creating a resume.
I would recommend Hiration mostly to those who want to work for a tech company, just because a lot of their profiles are tailor-fitted to many jobs in tech. However, I would still use this resume builder if I were in another industry just for its convenience.
I like that the pricing was upfront, and it didn’t bait me to create a resume, but then have to pay at the end.
My constructive feedback is that they could improve on creating more profiles — so that when you create a resume for a sales job, you can also create a cover letter.
Overall, I can say that I am delighted with my experience (even if I’m not a tech person myself) in using Hiration to build my resume, cover letter, and digital portfolio.
