Appeagle Review (Is RepricerExpress a Better Alternative?)

When evaluating repricing tools, sellers often end up choosing between Appeagle and RepricerExpress. As an online seller myself, I decided to put together this Appeagle review to make your decision a little easier.

They are now known as informed.co, Appeagle is a price intelligence tool that provides online sellers with competitive data and insights. If you’re currently selling on Amazon, eBay, or Walmart, this tool will price your products more competitively to generate more sales.

Let’s get into the specifics.

Appeagle Review – Understanding the Algorithms

As with many other tools designed to increase online sales, Appeagle relies on algorithms to provide sellers with price-related data. The first is the Buy Box algorithm, which, as the name suggests, is designed to help you win more Buy Boxes and increase sales.

The second is the Sales Velocity algorithm, which optimises the prices of private label goods with no competition. You can either choose to sell your items by a specific date or set the algorithm to only focus on maximising profits.

Lastly, there is the Compete Against Featured Merchant algorithm. It increases the likelihood of Buy Box wins by only competing against sellers that are Buy Box eligible.

For those who are more experienced with repricing strategies, Appeagle, or informed.co, also gives you the option to build an algorithm from scratch. You decide who you want to compete against and how you want to reprice.

Appeagle Features

Appeagle Review

Next, let’s go through some of informed.co’s top features – this should give you a better idea of the capabilities of this tool.

  • Performance Analytics. These customisable charts display your most important data, including product category profits and sales volume per fulfilment type.
  • Integrations. Appeagle easily integrates with platforms such as sellercloud, InventoryLab, and SureDone, making it easier for you to sync information and automate tasks.
  • Competitor Reporting. One of the main reasons for using this tool is to get ahead of the competition. Appeagle makes it possible to track profitable competitor products, price changes, and get SKU-by-SKU breakdowns.

So, what does it cost to access these features?

The good news is that if you want to try Appeagle before you pay for the tool, there is a free trial available.

For 14 days, you get full access to all the informed.co features, after that, prices start at $49 per month.

The packages align with your monthly revenue – the more you earn, the more you can expect to pay every month.

You won’t pay more than $499 per month unless your monthly revenue exceeds $250,000 per month. For this, you need to contact informed.co for a custom quotation.

Appeagle vs RepricerExpress – Is One Better Than the Other?

I have tried both informed.co and RepricerExpress – here are some of the key differences between these two tools.

Getting Set Up

Both informed.co and RepricerExpress offer a 2-week trial, so if you want to explore both tools before you commit, this is possible. What I appreciate is that they don’t require credit card details to sign up for either of these trials.

You will need to provide both sites with access to your Amazon account though. You can do this using MWS tokens and authorisation codes.

Not to worry if you are not technically inclined either, the instructions are straightforward.

RepricerExpress users can expect to receive an email notification once the integration is complete.

Repricing Rules

The next step in the setup process is to decide how you want to compete and reprice your products.

I highly recommend taking your time with this part of the process, particularly if you have a large inventory. You don’t want to reprice too high or low.

RepricerExpress is easy to use, even if you’re a beginner. You can start by setting a minimum and maximum percentage that you want the tool to reprice within for each of your products. Repricer then adjusts prices based on competitor activity and the rules you set.

This process takes time is if you don’t want to apply the same price percentage limits to all products. If you’re going to set different limits for each of your products, the manual set up can be a lengthy process.

What I love about RepricerExpress is that you can upload an excel file with minimum and maximum prices for different products if need be. You will, of course, need to take the time to create this spreadsheet.

RepricerExpress Dashboard

The next step is to decide who you want to compete with; you can choose to reprice against Amazon, FBA sellers or MFN sellers. There’s also the option of choosing to win as many Buy Boxes as possible as a strategy, this, of course, isn’t seller specific.

RepricerExpress has some excellent choices when creating repricing strategies, allowing you to get specific. Whether you want to reprice against sellers from particular countries or those with a particular Seller Rating, there are several filters you can use.

Another feature that I enjoy using is scenarios. You outline what should happen with your listings in specific scenarios. For example, if a competitor is selling below your minimum price, do you want to reprice or rely on the next best seller’s price?

It does take some trial and error to make the scenarios feature work for you, but it can take your strategy to the next level.

In terms of how you can choose to reprice, Appeagle offers very similar options to RepricerExpress. If you are looking for a user-friendly dashboard, Appeagle doesn’t deliver as well (in my opinion).

It’s not impossible to navigate the Appeagle dashboard; I just felt it could be more straightforward. If you’re an advanced user that has a better understanding of these tools, you probably won’t have a problem with Appeagle, aka informed.co.

Repricing Results

When comparing the results of these two repricing tools, I didn’t see a massive difference in terms of sales frequency, even though I used similar settings.

It seems that both tools are capable of effectively implementing repricing strategies; RepricerExpress makes it easier to set up, implement, and optimise repricing rules.

With the 14-day trial, it’s possible to try out different strategies on both platforms to see how each performs before you decide on one tool.

Pricing

While Appeagle bases its prices on revenue, RepricerExpress packages include different features and have a listing limit.

Their cheapest package (Express) is £59 (or $75) per month and includes 5,000 listings. Even though the basic RepricerExpress package is $26 more expensive than Appeagle’s basic package, I feel it offers more value.

Even more advanced sellers would benefit from the features included in the Express package, so ultimately, it works out a lot cheaper.

Appeagle Review – The Verdict

Ultimately, based on my experience, RepricerExpress is a better alternative to informed.co. The price difference and usability of the platform stand out for me, and I feel the different packages offer more value.

Appeagle is by no means an ineffective tool, but it may be a better fit for those who have used tools like this before. It’s also a better choice for Walmart and eBay sellers – RepricerExpress doesn’t support these two platforms.

One thing I will say about both Appeagle and RepricerExpress is that both sites offer an excellent selection of resources, which is useful if you want to learn how to use each tool as efficiently as possible.

If you are interested in finding out more about RepricerExpress specifically, I recommend reading my full review here. You can also take advantage of an extended 30-day free trial promo code.

We’ve actually put together a pretty in-depth tutorial video to show you how we use RepricerExpress, check it out below.

On the subject of amazon seller tools, there is another useful tool you should know about. It’s a free tool called Amazon DS Quick View it’s a huge time saver.
