One of the questions that I get asked the most this time of the year is where to find wide calf boots! Boots are necessities for Fall and if you have wide calves like I do, you know that they aren’t always the easiest to find. Also, not all wide calf boots are created equal. I’ve purchased many wide calf boots online that still did not fit. I realized that I needed to pay attention to one piece of information – the calf circumference. Wide calf boots vary in how wide they actually are. So here are the steps you need to take:
- Get a tape measure and wrap it around the widest part of your calf. Take a note of that measurement. (Mine is 17.5 inches for reference)
- When browsing online, look at the product details or specifications and the calf circumference will be listed. Use this as a guide to finding the perfect to match your calf width.
**If your calf measurement is 1 or 2 inches larger than the calf circumference listed, there is still a good chance it will fit. Many boots have stretch factor that allows it to expand past the circumference listed
