I’ll skip any mention of party season being different this year, because I’m sure you’re sick of hearing it by now, and skip straight to the good stuff: party shoes.
For your normal day to day business, there are stylish winter boots and ankle boots to tick all your autumn trends. But the festive season is your time to shine, literally.
There is no better time for all you maximalists out there to adorn your feet with sequins, jewels, feathers and pearls – though fear not, I’ve found plenty of more paired back styles for the minimalists too. Keep scrolling to shop my edit of the best party flats and heels this season.
Low heel party shoes
Love them or loath them, kitten heels and low heels have been a fashion staple for the past few seasons now, firmly spelling the end of our love affair with the stiletto. There are plenty of amazing options from both designers and the high street, though I’m particularly loving Prada’s ladylike slingbacks and Manu Atelier’s low sandals.
Block heel party shoes
Luckily, the 90s trend renewal is going nowhere, and so we have plenty of block-heel options to choose from this season. If you’re feeling flush, Nodelato heels are the perfect tribute to Baby Spice and are insanely comfortable. On the high street, & Other Stories, Topshop and Zara have some excellent choices.
Comfortable party shoes
Block heels are ultimately easier to walk in than stilettos, but if you’re genuinely looking for shoes that won’t leave your feet sore by the end of the night (you know after dancing the night away in a club *jokes*), then flats are a safe bet. You’d be surprised by how fancy they can get, from velvet loafers to embellished ballet flats, here are some of my faves.
Christmas party shoes
A pair of statement heels is the fastest way to amp up a simple black dress, or a ‘jeans and a nice top’ combo, and this season’s offering is better than ever. For that wow factor, Amina Muaddi heels, with their crystal embellishments and quirk heels, are just what your feet need.
Though if you’d rather go for a paired back look, the naked sandal is probably the best shoe investment you’ll ever make.
