Hi! I’m Sanket Kalambe, welcome to The Flying Paper. I’ve been blogging since past 4 years, but never really thought of it as a career goal. Later, when I stopped writing, I couldn’t pursue it any further. However, I didn’t stop learning and my hustle to know more about digital marketing was thriving.
I have a medium level of understanding about how digital marketing works, but I’ve never implemented what I’ve self-learned on any of my blogs. I wished to learn Digital Marketing as per industry standards and get a hold of live-projects before I use the tools for my upcoming business.
There are a lot of digital marketing experts and institutes in India, but since the market demand keeps changing, you cannot simply join a random class and then become a Digital Marketing Expert.
I follow a lot of experts in the niche and Digital Deepak is one my favourite. I wished once to learn from him and now, I finally got an opportunity to join his Digital Marketing Internship Program. Something, I should have asked for, way early, when I started blogging.
Day 1: Digital Marketing Internship Program by Digital Deepak
First Class of the internship program was named as ‘finding the gold’. In this class, we got to know a brief about economics and the market. The whole perception that there is no market opportunity in the world was changed with this simple quote, “Deciding where to compete is half your success.”
The market is ever-expanding, every new discovery or a new business creates new demand in the circle.
Later, I got aware of the few things which are very basic, but important to get your first break. One of which is communication skill.
Communication plays a significant role when it comes to digital marketing. A better communicator can do better business. By communication, it doesn’t mean you have to master any particular language but should have an ability to express what you want to convey.
It can take various forms, either you can communicate with the audience via writing, speaking, creating videos and much more.
Here are 4 action steps mentioned by Digital Deepak in the class:
Reading: Read a lot, practise reading at least 30 minutes a day. (My Recommendation: Do you want to be a fast-reader, get a copy of “How to read better and faster, by Norman Lewis“)
Listening: Listen to podcasts (30 Minutes a day). I often hear podcasts of Jay Shetty, Smart Passive Income, Gary Vaynerchuck.
Watching Videos/ Series: Watching Series without subtitles can help you as well. Deepak suggested series like Silicon Valley, Office, Seinfield.
Writing: Write at least 500 words a day. You’ll develop a habit of writing fluently when you practice this regularly.
What is the Future of Digital Marketing?
Due to automation and AI, there is doubt among new digital marketing aspirants, whether AI will take over digital marketing. Will there be any opportunity for the newcomers in the industry?
The answer is, yes. Because automation can only take over some part of the business, but only a human can understand the demand of another human. No other machines can take it over. So definitely, AI is the future, but it will co-exist with Digital Marketing, rather than taking over human jobs. After all, someone has to run the machine, right?
How Integrated Digital Marketing Works?
In one of his articles, Digital Deepak has created a plan to execute an Integrated Digital Marketing campaign. He defines the term (in his own words) as:
“Integrated Digital Marketing is the art and craft of using all the digital marketing methods available today in such a way that each digital marketing channel complements the other by playing its strengths rather than trying to reach the goal of increasing revenues and customer base on its own.“
Common digital marketing methods discussed in the integrated plan are:
- Search Engine Marketing (PPC)
- Search Engine Optimization (Organic Traffic)
- Email Marketing
- Social Media Marketing
- Digital Display Marketing
- Content Marketing

Selecting A Niche
The most crucial part of any business is to find a niche that you enjoy writing/talking about. But it should also have market demand, otherwise making it a business will be difficult.
Focus on sub-niche to create a target market and then sell your products, services to the market. This is an easy way to get established in the market than going for a broader niche.
Later, I learned about market research, keyword research and the tools for research, which will make the life of a digital marketer, easy.
Some of the best tools you can use for keyword research are Google Keywords Planner, UberSuggest, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Moz, Google Trends etc.
Overall Experience:
The first class was purely informative yet very important because everything that I’ve learned so far was covered in just one single class. So there’s a lot to come in the upcoming classes. Also, we’ve got assignments to test our theory with practical experience.
I’m looking forward to the upcoming classes of this digital marketing internship. I’ll definitely share my experience, in future. So, others who wish to get into this industry can get the idea of the outcome and grab the opportunity to learn from this program.
